The final meeting of London’s police authority ahead of its abolition will be held next week.
The Metropolitan Police Authority is being replaced by a new Mayor’s Office for Policing (MOPC) which will provide the Met with its strategic goals and scrutinise the force and Commissioner.
MOPC will in turn be scrutinised by a new London Assembly Police and Crime Panel.
At its final meeting, the Authority will deal with the following business:
- Report by the MPA Civil Liberties Panel on the policing of public protest: outlining progress of the MPS against the recommendations of the Panel’s review Responding to G20 and identifying areas for further improvement
- Treasury management: half year report 1 April to 30 September 2011
- MPA retrospective: the significant activities and achievements of the MPA
- MPA final report: committee responsibilities and arrangements for continuing such work within the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime
The meeting will be held at 10 Dean Farrar Street, London SW1 on Thursday 12 January 2012 from 10.00 AM and is open to the public.
